Installation Instruction for MPS Sensor Interface Application
-------------------------------------------------------------

To get the "MPS Sensor Interface" application running on your PC,
you need to:

* Download files found at Installer and Driver Installer on the MPS Flammable Gas
  Sensor Support Page.
* Run "CDM21228_Setup.exe" to install the FTDI USB Serial Driver. If your PC
already has the driver installed, there is no need to install it again.
* Run "MPS Installer.exe" to install the MPS Sensor Interface application.

Once installed, there should be a "Shortcut" on your Desktop to access
the application.

Instruction to Upgrade Sensor Firmware
--------------------------------------

The "MPS Sensor Interface" application can be used to upgrade the sensor's firmware.
When the application connects to the sensor, it communicates with the NevadaNano
server to see if a new firmware version is available. If a new version is available,
the firmware will be downloaded and "Upgrade Firmware" button will be enabled.
Select "Upgrade Firmware" to begin the upgrade process which should take roughly 2
minutes. It is important that you do not disconnect USB during the upgrade process as
the sensor may be irreversibly damaged if the firmware upgrade is interrupted.
Once upgrade is completed, select "Find MPS Devices" again and version info will be refreshed.

If no new firwmare is available, i.e. you have the latest firwmare, the
"Firwmare Up-To-Date" button will appear but deactivated.

Note:
----

During startup, the application will do a compatibility check against the sensor's
firmware. If it is incompatible, a warning message will appear indicating the
minimum required firmware version. The "Upgrade Firmware" button will then be
enabled allowing you to upgrade the sensor.
